It’s Monday morning, dreary out and this is for most people the worst part of their week. Why? Monday morning is when most suicides occur and people are found to be “most depressed”. Maybe because they don’t like their job or have some sort of struggle that they never expected in their life and have lost hope but it seems to be worse on monday’s. So that being known I thought I would give you a boost! Lets start trusting again.
I know one thing for certain, you will be blessed when you become a blessing! If you embrace your place and count the blessings that you do have those blessings will start to multiply. The grass is greener where you water it. In order to Trust God you must be trusting even when the sun is not shining outside. “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” James 4:7
Now you might be thinking, I don’t have any blessings look at how bad my situation is. I’ve heard the...
Have you heard the good news! If you are in sales and you “don’t believe in cold calling” you might be losing out on a lot of money. Too many sales gurus say that cold calling is dead and the truth is they just don’t want to do it. How do you help a salesperson who is striving for 100,000 dollars a year – but he doesn’t get leads from his company. What does he do all day? Well of course, calling on past and current clients, asking for referrals, is the first place to start, that is basic to sales training because “one” referral is equivalent to “fifteen” cold calls. But what do you do after you’ve called all of your clients? Networking, of course that is good too, but then you actually have to follow-up with whomever you met. Sales Training will usually identify that roughly Seventy-five percent of sales people never even follow up one time with a prospect. So if you are struggling...
Have you ever read the book of Revelations? I decided to cut off my television cable service and set two goals for myself to accomplish in six months. The First Goal (#1): loose X pounds of weight (I’m not telling you how much); and the Second Goal (#2): read the entire bible.
I started with Revelations because I thought, “Lets start with the end and go backwards!” What I learned from Revelations was not what I was expecting. If you haven’t read it, it’s pretty wild what’s in there — angels sending plagues, creatures coming up from the sea and red horses removing “peace” from the earth. What caught my attention though was how every time God sent a plague, He waited to see who would repent and turn back to Him. Naturally the people didn’t repent and another plague came.
My first instinct was, “Well, who would want to repent when God was obviously punishing them, the God of Mercy?”...
I recently went do to a free workshop for a group of “100%” commissioned sales people. These people decide the size of their paycheck because they only get paid when they actually sell something. There are several definitions of a sales person. Unfortunately, many people have preconceived notions of a salesperson looking sleazy, wearing an outdated suite, and someone who will do anything to “sell” even if he or she must lie.
This is more the exception than the norm. Unfortunately, there are sales techniques out there that are used for the sole purpose to “manipulate.” “Bait and switch” is a classic one. They will tell you over the phone the price of the car that they will give (just to you) and then when you show up they will forget what they told you and make the price higher. This is poor selling because it is based on “manipulation,” which means that the sales person is only...
“What the heart is filled with the lips will overflow with”
From years of executive coaching, I’ve decoded the secret to prosperity. It lies in one statement: “See your future as brilliant.” What does that mean? It means if you don’t have a compelling future you’ll fall susceptible to giving up. “People without a vision perish.” Considering the state of the economy. Sixty-three per cent of Americans say that they believe the best times are behind them; that the quality of their lives and their children’s lives will not be as good. The problem with this, is once you believe this, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. When you stop trying, it becomes learned helplessness. Less than 20% of Americans feel they have control of their financial future. I’m sure if you’re reading this you are not one of those people. You can’t control what happens around you all of the time, and you can’t control what you...
“When one door closes another one always opens, but sometimes it’s hell in the hallways.”
What to do when you are stuck in the hallway … and it’s hell?
What happens when things aren’t so awesome? Do you ever feel like you are in a valley, or worse, six feet deep in a ditch in a valley? Do you feel bitter because other people seem to have good fortune and you don’t? Are you feeling lost, wondering what you should be doing but not finding any answers? Have you lost your faith? Do you have a hard time trusting that “good things” will come your way because you‘ve been disappointed so many times? Do you feel stuck?
Good news! The deeper the valley, the higher the peak! Here is what to do:
Faith is making that cold call even though the odds are against you.
Go to the gym even though you might have so far to go.
Save money even though you have so little to begin with.
Start preparing for blessings to come. You will get nowhere...
Have you ever noticed that your “head” may be telling you one thing and your “heart” is telling you another?
Love is stronger than logic. This is true because think about someone you know that smokes cigarettes. Do they logically know it’s bad for them, yes? Smoking usually has an emotional attachment to it, otherwise anyone in his or her right mind would read the label and stay away. This applies to dating, do you know, or have you known someone that had dated a complete loser? You try to be the “voice of reason” but they continue to go back to the loser, why? Because there is an emotional connection. Logic will not win over the “will”. This is important to know in sales b/c if you sell just based on price you will seldom win. Have you ever bought something that you couldn’t afford? Why? Because we became emotional in one-way or another to the product.
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions…” Do...
What separates the successful people from everybody else? Is it “Habits.” I like to call them “Rituals.” What are your rituals—Physical? Emotional? Intellectual? Spiritual? What Disciplines have you developed?
If you are physically fit, you would have the ritual (habit/discipline) of working out and eating well. Emotionally angry people tend to get angry. What energy do you find yourself practicing most of the time? Intellectually, where do you seek wisdom? Are you growing, or are you in a slump? What books are you reading? And Spiritually, what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away? Can you be alone with yourself—and do you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments?
The “world” tells us to do what makes us happy. I see teenagers, drinking, over eating, over spending, indulging in promiscuous behaviors, and I see a suicide rate...
A Word of Encouragement
Do you ever feel like you just can’t get up above a problem or can’t seem to accomplish that goal that you’ve set as the same goal year after year? Or maybe there is that one person that haunts you with negative things that they’ve said in your past and for some reason you keep replaying their voice in your head over and over and you can’t escape the limitations that they’ve set upon you? If this is you then it’s time to be set free!
-Don’t worry about the haters. They are just angry because the truth you speak contradicts the lie they live.-
“To Manipulate the fears in others you must first master your own” –Batman
Do you have someone in your life that tries to control you? Have you ever wanted to say to them: Deal with your own problems and leave me alone! Many times when we face difficulty or resistance it’s really more of some person placing their...
There are two ways people are generally motivated! 1) the “Carrot.” That is the “thing” out there in the future that you want. Maybe it’s a new car, a dream vacation, a house etc. When you create a picture of what you really want and, when you look or think about that picture of your desire, it gives you good feelings. You tell yourself and others what you want, and you begin to move in the right direction to achieve it. Motivated people typically focus on the end result. They think about what it is that they want and what it would feel like to have it. They tell themselves, “this is easy because…” and then they give supporting evidence to enhance and create a stronger belief (reasons) why they can achieve what they want. The next type of motivation is 2) “the Stick.” This means you are motivated “away from” pain rather than motivated “towards” the...
